Association of hyperglycaemia at admission with in-hospital mortality and severity of illness among patients with COVID-19.

Objectives The association between hyperglycemia at admission and COVID-19 severity in-hospital mortality is an area of active medical research. Our study aims to explore this across diabetics hyperglycemic patients while keeping normoglycemic as control. Methods This retrospective cohort involved a total 90 with confirmed diagnosis infection. Patients were divided into three equal groups based on their history BSR levels (diabetics, hyperglycemic, normoglycemic). Various laboratory parameters inflammatory markers compared the using Kruskal Wallis test. Finally, chi-square test was use assess groups. Results Out patients, 38 (42.2%) males mean age 57.1 ± 14.7 years. Serum ferritin, LDH lymphocyte significantly higher in than normal (p<0.05). associated disease (p=0.03) but not morality (p=0.07). Conclusion diabetes stress have increased patients. Hyperglycemia poor severity. More studies required validate further relationship.
